Common issues and questions

1.  My PowerPoint files play but are not full screen

This is normally because PowerPoint Viewer 2010 is installed but NOT the PowerPoint Service Pack 2 and not the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats.  Please download and install both from:

http://www.presentationplayer.com/downloads/PowerPointViewerSP2.exe

and

http://www.presentationplayer.com/downloads/FileFormatConverters.exe

2.  My PowerPoint files play but do not loop at the end

This is normally because PowerPoint Viewer 2010 is installed but NOT the PowerPoint Service Pack 2.  Please download and install from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39652

If this stilll happens with SP2 installed, then you can manually set the looping by following these instructions:

https://www.presentationplayer.com/SetupPowerPointPresentationsForDigitalSignage.aspx

3.  After I install the client software and restart the computer, then the client doesn't start with Windows

Open the 'Presentation Player Client Settings' buy clicking on the Windows Start button and finding it under you applications.  Then click on 'Advanced' on the menu and then click on 'Enable client start with Windows'.

On Windows 10 you can check that it is then set as a start up application by opening Task Manager (use Ctrl+Alt+Del keyboard keys together or search for Task Manager in the start bar).  Then click on the 'Start' tab page and make sure that you can see 'Presentation Player Client' listed and that it is set to Enabled.

4.  The client software has stopped launching with Windows

On Windows 10 you can check that it is then set as a start up application by opening Task Manager (use Ctrl+Alt+Del keyboard keys togther or search for Task Manager in the start bar).  Then click on the 'Start' tab page and make sure that you can see 'Presentation Player Client' listed and that it is set to Enabled.   If the entry is disabled, then enable it.  If you cannot see the entry, then we need to re-setup the start with Windows by:

- Open the 'Presentation Player Client Settings' buy clicking on the Windows Start button and finding it under you applications.  Then click on 'Advanced' on the menu and then click on 'Enable client start with Windows'.

5.  How to I set a presentation to start automatically when Windows starts

You need to go to the Player computers list in your online account, and then click on the View button next to your player computer and then go to the 'Windows startup' tab on the player record.  You can then set a presntation to automatically load.
